We live in increasingly fast-paced, stressful environments often cut-off from nature, negatively impacting our physical, mental and emotional health. Those in the helping-professions have additional unique stressors from their work with clients that can bring about serious burnout, which, left untreated, can overwhelm us and affect our work. 

This hands-on, day-long experiential workshop is designed to help. In this workshop, practitioners will learn about the theory and practice of Equine Assisted Interventions and simple restorative practices in nature that can promote a sense of connection, calm, and well-being, for yourself and also for your clients. 

The workshop will be held at a private farm just over the Illinois border near Kenosha, Wisconsin, a little more than an hour from Chicago and the suburbs – yet a whole other world. It will be hosted and facilitated by Arieahn Matamonasa-Bennett, Ph.D., a Licensed Psychologist (IL and WI), author, international speaker, and pioneer in Equine Assisted Therapies/Interventions with decades of experience in teaching, practice, and group facilitation.

We will spend the day learning restorative practices including working with horses, restorative nature exposure, and additional practices to help you (and your clients, of course), find restoration and self-care through mindful activities and intention setting.  Consider this a gift to yourself, a day to yourself to connect with nature and animals, to be the best therapist you can be for your clients.

No prior experience necessary, due to the nature of the workshop, space is limited.
